Jessilyn Matthias
Jessilyn graduated from the University of Idaho with an M.S. in Adult Organizational Learning and Leadership. She very interested in supporting non-profit organizations and hopes one day to write and research grants. Jess enjoys reading whatever she can get her hands on, and believes learning is an everyday process. She has also recently been involved with the Moscow Self-Advocacy Leadership Network (SALN). Her new position at the CDHD has made her more connected to her peers in the community. As far as art is concerned, she feels there is something totally individual about it, and loves that there is no right or wrong answers about how it should be. She feels happier and less stressed when she’s allowed to be creative and work things out as she goes. Jess really enjoys painting, but is also interested in mixed-media and digital art. For a sculpturing class in college, she made a structure out of newspapers, papier mache, wires, and clay. She has been drawing pictures since she was very young, but got more serious in high school and college, taking a variety of painting, pottery, and color theory classes.
