2021 Vandal Summer Academy

The 2021 Vandal Summer Academy will take place on June 14-25, 2021. This year, the Academy is going virtual with 10 online half-day sessions. Each session will run from 9am to 12pm PST (10am to 1pm MST).

This program is great for students aged 14-21 with disabilities interested in attending a two or four-year college after high school. It is free to take part – IDVR will cover the cost.

You will participate from home, using a computer or other mobile device. Connect and build relationships with peers, college instructors and student mentors through online meetings.

The program will focus on postsecondary readiness, job exploration and self-advocacy, with information sessions covering:

  • college/university resources
  • living on-campus
  • social life at college
  • time management
  • stress management
  • disability access
  • communication
  • strategies for academic success.

You will also have the chance to explore majors and programs, and participate in activities focused on job skills.
