June 12, 2019 By CDHD Moscow Artwalk 2019 The 15th annual Moscow Artwalk 2019 opens on June 21st with receptions and events throughout the city. Start at Disability Action Center NW at 4pm to view art from talented artists who live with disability. Photography, mosaic, cement sculpture, and more! Since its beginning in 2004, Moscow Artwalk has become a highlight of the Palouse summer, celebrating the wealth and breadth of artistic talent in the region. Moscow Artwalk is a cultural and artistic experience open to everyone at no cost, and includes artist receptions, musical performances, and Main Street events. This year's event features over 65 host locations and more than 100 artists. Pick up a PASSPORT at participating host locations (look for the blue PASSPORT sign), have 6 participating locations sign or stamp your passport, then drop your completed passport at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce by 9pm, Friday June 21 and you'll be entered into a drawing for prizes. PLUS: Vote for your favorite work of art by an Artwalk 2019 artist and host location. A "Peoples' Choice" prize will be awarded to the favorite artist. The opening reception invites audiences to explore Moscow businesses that are participating as host locations through a self-guided tour. An Artwalk brochure PDF directs viewers not only on the evening of the opening reception, but also throughout the Artwalk exhibition. The length of exhibitions at each host location varies, so check with individual businesses to find out how long artwork will be displayed. Whether you come for art, music, food, or a little bit of everything, Artwalk truly offers something for everyone!
