Join the Interdisciplinary Book Club

Trainees at the Center on Disabilities and Human Development are offering an Interdisciplinary Book Club open to all University of Idaho Students.

The 2018 Fall semester book choice is out of my mind by Sharon M. Draper. Goodreads review says: "Melody is not like most people. She cannot walk or talk, but she has a photographic memory; she can remember every detail of everything she has ever experienced. She is smarter than most of the adults who try to diagnose her and smarter than her classmates in her integrated classroom – the very same classmates who dissmiss her as mentally challenged because she cannot tell them otherwise. But Melody refuses to be defined by cerebral palsy. And she's determined to let everyone know it - somehow."

The Book Club will meet once a month to discuss literature, as well as learn about inclusivity and diversity. To join or receive more information, contact Laura Hannon at or 208-885-6000. Please note that books are available on a first-come first-served basis.
