Gain professional certification

Community Based Supports (CBS) is a professional certification course for those who want to work with children with disabilities. It's required by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to provide services.

You can register and complete the course as needed. There are no registration deadlines.

The training costs $10 per student. Payment must be made by credit card.

Purchase CBS training through U of I Marketplace

Please review the following information for important information about your CBS training course.

Register for CBS training

After registration is purchased and your order is processed, you will receive an email with information on how to set up your user account.

Registration orders for CBS training are processed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday after 3 pm MT (excluding public holidays). Orders received before 3 pm MT on those days will be processed the same day (after 3 pm MT). Orders received after 3 pm MT will be processed on the next processing day (after 3 pm MT).

Once you receive your email, please follow the account set-up instructions carefully to ensure you are able to access all of your course information without further delay.

If you haven't received your email

Note that it can take up to four business days to process registration orders.

If you haven't received instructions after four days, check your spam/junk mail folders. If you can’t find it in your junk mail folder, check with the person who signed you up for the training. They should be able to forward a copy of the email to you.

If you signed yourself up for the training, email the Idaho CDHD (idahocdhd@uidaho.edu).

Complete CBS training

The training includes a ‘Course Information’ module and four learning modules.

You must complete all four learning modules. This includes three reflective questions and three quizzes. You must score a minimum of 80% on each quiz. You can take them as many times as you need to achieve a passing score.

The entire training will take around 3-4 hours to complete. We recommend breaking the training up over time rather than taking it all in one session.

Your account is active for 30 days

You will have 30 days to complete the training. If you don’t complete your training within 30 days, you must register and pay for the training again. When purchasing, ensure you select ‘Yes, current HS student’ under ‘Current Habs Support student?’. We will open your account for another 30 days.

Print a Certificate of Completion

When you successfully finish your CBS training, you will gain access to your Certificate of Completion. The certificate can be printed and provided to your employer as evidence that you completed the training.

To access your certificate, you must score a minimum of 80% on each of the three quizzes and answer three reflective questions. Once complete, your Certificate of Completion will be available to print.

Save a copy of your certificate

We strongly recommended that you keep copies of your certificate and answers to your reflective questions for your own files. We do not have access to your reflective questions, and we are only able to reprint your certificate if you enrolled in the course after January 1, 2017.

Request a new certificate

If you enrolled in and completed CBS training after January 1, 2017, you may request a new Certificate of Completion by emailing the Idaho CDHD.

If you enrolled and completed CBS training before January 1, 2017, you must pay to enroll and complete the training again. We do not keep records prior to that date.

If you have any questions  about the CBS training course, including login information or technical issues, please email the Idaho CDHD (idahocdhd@uidaho.edu).
