artAbility 2025-26 Year 12 of artAbility saw a new coordinator and six new art workshops aimed at providing people with disabilities in the Moscow area an outlet for artistic and social expression. Sofia Bronaugh took on the Project Coordinator role with a focus on forgotten, vintage and classic art forms. Notable local artists, including Arlene Falcon, Chelsey Byrd Lewallen, and Polly Walker, provided instruction on everything from tie dye to Japanese visible mending. The year culminated, as usual, with the annual artAbility Showcase, once again inviting friends, family and the local community to the 1912 Center for an evening of viewing artwork and getting to know the participants. For those who were unable to attend, the Digital artAbility Showcase offered a look at all the artwork from a distance and celebration of another year of artistic expression in the Moscow community. She joined the CDHD as a trainee last fall. Last year she was acting as a peer mentor for our Vandal QUEST program, or you may recognize her from Movement in the Park. She joined Isabella and Emily over the summer as a student instructor. Sofia is originally from San Diego, California. She came to the University of Idaho to study secondary education. She's looking forward to getting to know the artAbility community and seeing everyone express themselves through all the different art they'll be making this year.
