10 data points highlighting Idaho SESTA's positive impact

Our Idaho SESTA project has long been improving outcomes for students with disabilities across the state. Through resources, technical assistance and training for education partners, SESTA continues to provide beneficial support that helps to ensure Idaho’s educators are equipped to teach all children.

But don’t just take our word for it. Here are 10 annual report highlights that demonstrate how this work is improving Idaho education.

1. 89% of Local Education Agencies (LEAs) received support from Idaho SESTA, covering 100% of Idaho’s counties and demonstrating this project’s statewide reach.

2. Even better, 95% of those LEAs reported that Idaho SESTA support was high quality. 95% also reported they increased their professional knowledge or skills.

3. SESTA provided 137 trainings over the course of the year. That’s roughly 11 trainings per month or nearly three per week! These trainings were attended by more than 2400 educators.

4. Idaho SESTA’s online resource library had over 83,000 resource views and more than 44,000 file downloads. That’s approximately 1596 views per week from teachers and educators seeking information and resources related to supporting students with disabilities.

5. 704 educators received Tier 2 short-term training or support through Idaho SESTA. 93% of those educators reported applying the knowledge/skills after the training – 72% applied it weekly or more often.

6. 83% said their professional practice benefitted from receiving Tier 2 support, and 72% reported their students benefited from their changed practice.

7. 30 LEAs from across Idaho received Tier 3 support – long -term targeted technical assistance. 100% of those LEAs applied their new knowledge and skills after the training.

9. 85 Idaho schools received support from Idaho Tiered Behavior Supports (ITBS) to implement the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) framework. This system focuses on improving academic, social, emotional and behavioral outcomes for students. It also increases teacher experience in self-efficacy and reduces exclusionary discipline, office discipline referrals, and restraint and seclusion.

10. 97% of those schools reported that their ITBS training was high quality. 98% indicated they gained new knowledge or skills, and 100% reported that they applied that knowledge.
