For those who may not be familiar, tie dye is a form of resist-dying to create unique color patterns on clothing or fabric. Arlene Falcon from Moscow’s Tie Dye Everything will be leading participants through these workshops, covering the materials and different processes of this colorful art medium.

If you would like to attend, please contact Sofia by emailing sofiab@uidaho.edu or call 208 885 6096 to register your place.

Meet our new Project Coordinator

Emily Pearson has passed the artAbility torch to a new Project Coordinator after a year of leading the project. Sofia Bronaugh has taken on the role. You may have met her already as she originally joined the CDHD last fall, working for our Vandal QUEST program. She also helped us through the summer with Healthy Active Lifestyles.

Sofia is originally from San Diego, California. She’s at the University of Idaho pursuing her degree in secondary education.

“I am looking forward to getting to know the community around me and being able to see everyone express themselves though all the different art we will be making. I am so excited for everyone to try some different forms of art this year,” she said about taking on the project.

Welcome, Sofia, and we’re looking forward to all the cool thing you’ve been planning.

Get to know artAbility

artAbility is a student-led CDHD project that encourages adults with disabilities to express themselves through art.

Free workshops are planned and coordinated by our Project Coordinator, with local artists providing instruction and University of Idaho students acting as natural supports. Each workshop focuses on a different artistic medium, offering participants the opportunity to explore different types of self-expression. Past workshops have focused on everything from clay sculpture to Native American drumming.
