July 7, 2022 By CDHD ISU Academy NeXT 2022: July 25-29, August 1-5 The 2022 Idaho State University (ISU) Academy NeXT will offer two sessions this year! This summer program is for students with disabilities aged 14 to 21. There are two sessions available, depending on your interests. Each one focuses on providing you with the skills and information you need to successfully transition to life after high school. Program 1: July 25-29 If you’re interested in attending college after high school, sign up for Program 1. You’ll spend five consecutive days on the ISU campus in Pocatello. During this time, you will work with avatars to focus on communication skills and: taking notes accessing the Educational Access Center understanding financial aid advocating for yourself. Participate in modified academic classes, sleep in the dorms and eat in the cafeteria. You can also explore campus. It’s a great way to see and experience what ISU college life is really like! Program 2: August 1-5 If you’re interested in finding a job after high school, sign up for Program 2. This virtual program allows you to participate from home using a computer or other mobile device. It is made up of five half-day sessions. You will learn valuable job-seeking skills by using web-quests and Minecraft. There is also a Tech Bootcamp available on July 28.
