April 4, 2025 By CDHD artAbility Showcase 2025: April 21 Spring is here, which can only mean one thing … it’s time for the artAbility Showcase! Please save the date for this year’s event and join us in celebration of all the wonderful art that has been created over the academic year: April 21, 2025 from 5-7 pm at the 1912 Center The event is free and open to everyone! There will be artwork for sale (cash or check) and light refreshments. We’re excited to celebrate this year’s artists, their work and another year of artistic expression in the Moscow community. Guests can expect a gallery focused on nature, with many of the pieces created from or inspired by the natural environment around us. What is artAbility? artAbility is a student-led project that encourages adults with disabilities to freely express themselves through art. Each year, we host a series of art workshops led by local artists, with Idaho CDHD trainees and University of Idaho students acting as natural supports. Each workshop focuses on a different art medium, ranging from photography to outdoor oil painting. Participants are provided with instruction and materials to create art within a supportive and inclusive environment. The workshops are free to attend and all adults with disabilities in the local area are welcome to join. Registration is required. At the end of each academic year, we host the artAbility Showcase. This is a gallery-style event in which all the artwork created over the year is displayed for the artists, their family and friends, and the community to view and appreciate. Everyone is welcome! The project also hosts a Digital Showcase, which will launch on the artAbility site on day of the Showcase. If you have any questions about the artAbility Showcase or would like more information about the artAbility project, please contact Emily Pearson (epearson@uidaho.edu). We hope to see you at this year’s event!
