February 6, 2025 By CDHD Winter 2024-25 Front and Center is out! Along with the snow, the winter edition of Front and Center is here! Find out what we’ve been up to over the last quarter, with news and announcements from November, December and January, and we’re looking forward to important dates coming up over February, March and April. Did you know that IdahoSTARS offers scholarships? This program supports continued education and professional development that helps to improve outcomes for children across the state. Find out more through the experience of Leslie Richard, recent University of Idaho graduate thanks to the IdahoSTARS scholarship program. The Idaho Living Well project completed six years of work, culminating in the Idaho Living Well Blueprint. This comprehensive document reviews lessons learned in developing systems changes for Idaho’s home and community-based services system. It is also a reference for other states and organizations to develop their own strategies and improvements. The Idaho Technology Project has been busy helping Idahoans find the assistive technology they need to thrive. Read about a unique case that resulted in a new lift that attaches to the back of one man’s truck to help him get in and out of heavy machinery! Idaho SESTA launched a new professional development program called BEACON, the Idaho Training Clearinghouse’s For Credit courses are open for spring enrollment, and the Idaho Council on Developmental Disabilities is looking for feedback to inform their next five-year plan. On the student front, Kira Haile is officially a University of Idaho graduate and Kincaid Moberly’s newest research project is exploring accessibility on the University of Idaho campus. Looking ahead, there are professional development dates from SESTA as well as free online accessibility training with A11y Idaho.
