artAbility Tree Ring Paper Prints

Tree Ring Paper Printing, Sept 24

artAbility workshop: Tree Ring Paper Printing

artAbility is back with the first workshop of the 2023-24 academic year.

Tree Paper Ring Printing will kick things off on September 24 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.

Nick Koenig, a University of Idaho Geography PhD student, will show participants how to use ink gels and cross cuts from trees to make paper prints. The end result will be a print that draws on the beauty of nature and displays the unique story of each tree used.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the artAbility project. Since 2014, artAbility has been bringing together adults with disabilities in the Moscow area and local artists in an artistic collaboration.

This year also marks the first year that Alena Ramkissoon steps in as Project Coordinator. You may recognize her from last year’s workshops as she assisted Areli Morphin.

Alena is originally from southern California. She is currently a junior at the University of Idaho pursuing an education degree in child development. She has wasted no time in kicking off the 10th year of the project, with many workshops already in the works.

In fact, along with the Tree Ring Paper Printing, she has already planned the second workshop of the semester – Monochromatic Texture Art. And Alena will be leading that one herself! Read all about it on the artAbility webpage, along with more information about Alena and what’s coming up this year!
