January 9, 2025 By CDHD Movement in the Park: spring schedule Movement in the Park is coming back for another semester of movement and fun! The new spring 2025 schedule will begin on January 14 and run through May 1. People of all ages, abilities and fitness levels are welcome to join to get your body moving this spring. Spring 2025 schedule When: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 11-12 pm PT Where: Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center Download our Movement in the Park flyer There will also be a Movement in the Park session at Milestones and Opportunities Unlimited in Moscow every Thursday and on campus with our Vandal QUEST program every Friday. For more information about these sessions, please email Isabella Gilmore at igilmore@uidaho.edu. What to expect There will be some changes this semester. Don’t worry – participants can still expect the same fun and inclusive environment; however, sessions will now run for a full hour! This extended timeframe will still focus on exercises or activities that focus on arms, legs, core and cardio, with adaptive alternatives offered to suit all abilities. These longer sessions will allow more time to explore adventure-based activities such as nature walks and games. All three of our student instructors – Isabella, Hayley and Jayda – are returning to lead each session. “This semester, we will try a little bit of everything! There will be more time to deepen skills and relationships with each other,” said Isabella Gilmore. The aim of these free movement classes is to help people of all abilities meet the CDC recommended physical activity guidelines of 150 minutes of physical activity per week. The new extended sessions will go a long way in helping participants meet their goals. As always, everyone can join in the fun! All ages, all abilities are welcome. All sessions will be held at the Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center in Moscow. If you have any questions about Movement in the Park, visit the HAL website or call 208 883 7084.
