March 12, 2026 By CDHD Congrats, Barbara Broyles: 2026 UI Outstanding Employee Join us in congratulating Barbara Broyles, Idaho SESTA Program Manager, for her recognition in the 2026 University of Idaho Awards for Excellence. Barbara was named this year’s Outstanding Employee (Non-Faculty Exempt). This award recognizes her dedication, commitment and contributions in supporting learning, mentoring, service, collaboration and success in her role at the University. No less than nine colleagues nominated and/or wrote letters of support for Barbara, including Carlie Tucker, CDHD Marketing and Web Development Manager. “We’re all very excited for her. It’s definitely well deserved,” said Carlie. “Barbara is the definition of ‘above and beyond’ at the Center.” The Awards for Excellence shine a spotlight on those who strengthen the university community through innovation and professional excellence. Categories span students, faculty and non-faculty staff, with nominations coming from peers and colleagues across all departments of the University. There are ten non-faculty staff categories, with a single winner named for each category. Nominees for the Outstanding Employee Award must demonstrate quality of service, exceptional effort, initiative in their role, and the ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships. In her role at the CDHD and Idaho SESTA, Barbara exceeds these criteria. Over the course of this financial year alone, she has processed more than 48 service agreements and 450 Idaho SESTA Help Desk tickets (and counting). She coordinates and collaborates with staff across institutions, departments, professional levels and physical locations. She is the lead of our Operations Team and represents the CDHD on the Special Education Advisory Panel at the behest of the Idaho Department of Education Director of Special Education. Quite simply, Barbara is an outstanding employee who is crucial to our success. “In every sense, Barbara exemplifies the spirit of the University Staff Award. Her exceptional commitment, extraordinary work ethic and consistently outstanding performance make her highly deserving of this recognition,” said Diana Morgan, Statewide SESTA Coordinator. Barbara will officially be honored and celebrated for her achievements at the University Excellence Awards Ceremony, which will take place at the Administration Building Auditorium on the Moscow campus on May 6, 2026.
