Idaho Transition Institute 2021

2021 Idaho Transition Institute, Nov 3-4

The 2021 Idaho Transition Institute will take place on November 3 and 4 at the Boise State University Student Union Building.

District and charter team leads can register now

This event is a powerful opportunity to connect with resources from partnering agencies and institutions who offer transition resources and experiences to students with disabilities. School and community teams can go through the planning process to make the most of opportunities and outcomes for the students they serve.

The event also offers the chance to participate in focused breakout and keynote sessions. This year’s keynote speaker is Dr John McNaught, EdD.

Dr McNaught began his career at a residential wilderness school for at-risk youth and youth with emotional disabilities. He also worked in a public high school as a special education teacher and supervised a community-based work-study program for students with disabilities.

He was one of the first individuals in the state of Virginia to implement student-directed IEP meetings, and he worked diligently as an educator to bring the student’s voice to the forefront. Dr McNaught is a founding member and Principal Investigator of the Virginia Department of Education’s I’m Determined Project as well as Co-Director for the Virginia Department of Education Training and Technical Assistance Center at James Madison University.
