November 6, 2025 By CDHD Front and Center: fall 2025 edition is out! Great news! The fall Front and Center has been released and it’s packed full of updates from across our projects. This latest edition of our quarterly newsletter covers August to October 2025, with news and impact stories from ICIE, family and self-advocates, Healthy Active Lifestyles, and the Center itself. Kicking things off was a wrap up on ICIE’s Envision Employment Summit, which took place in late September. This unique conference drew 151 Idahoans from across the state, with a focus on collaboration and improving competitive integrated employment for young people with disabilities. Get all the details on the great work that was achieved over these two days. This was followed up by not one, but two family impact stories where family and self-advocates discussed with us the impacts that projects like artAbility and Healthy Active Lifestyles have on their family members with disabilities. From building confidence and independence to creating a network of support, it was great to hear from those with lived experience on how community-based programs benefit our local communities. This fall Front and Center also included annual report highlights, details on our newest grant from the Stranahan Foundation, and a celebration of quality early education with IdahoSTARS and the University of Idaho Children’s Center. Our trainees weren’t left out, with an official welcome back for the fall 2025 semester. All seven of our trainees gave us a short interview on what they’re looking forward to this year. We also caught up with past trainee Ernesto Marquez Montes on the impact the CDHD had on his time at university as well as his decision to pursue a career as a genetic counsellor.
