Healthy Active Lifestyles: summer schedule 2026

Warmer temperatures. Bright, sunny days. This can only mean one thing … Summer is here, bringing with it a whole new schedule of Healthy Active Lifestyles programs! The new schedule officially launched on May 18 and will run through August 21, with Movement in the Park sessions and NatureFit Adventures.

Read on to get all the details so you can join us this summer. Remember, EVERYONE is welcome!

Movement in the Park

Movement in the Park is a free adaptive movement class. This summer, we will be holding classes twice per week:

Mondays at 11 am at East City Park
Wednesdays at 2 pm at the Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center.

What to expect

Participants can expect each class to run for approximately one hour. Exercises and activities focus on core, legs, arms and cardio. This can range from calisthenic-style exercise to dance-driven movement to games like bocce or basketball. No matter what style of exercise is focused on, adaptive alternatives are always offered to suit all abilities and fitness levels.

This summer, we have a new line-up of CDHD student trainees acting as instructors: Isabella Cox, Sofia Bronaugh and Bella Hacker will be leading each session.

NatureFit Adventures

This program welcomes all ages and abilities to explore outdoor areas in and around Moscow. The summer session will run until August 21:

Fridays from 10 am to 12 pm
Locations are announced each week via email.

What to expect

This is all about nature-based exploration, with a focus on getting outside to enjoy nature with peers to enjoy nature.

Each week, participants meet-up to explore a different outdoor location in the local area. This can range from hiking trails to gardening with the University of Idaho Soil Stewards to a Washington State University campus visit. Excursions are led by our CDHD student trainees.

If you would like to join, email contact Isabella Cox (igilmore@uidaho.edu or 208 885 6094) to join our mailing list. Locations will be mailed out each Wednesday, with instructions or information you’ll need to know for your adventure.
