Congrats, Jeff Mason

Please join us in congratulating Idaho Assistive Technology Project’s Jeff Mason for completing the Assistive Technology (AT) Applications Certificate Program!

Jeff – a Lending Library Consultant in our Boise office – has earned a Certificate of Advanced Professional Development in Assistive Technology Applications from Tseng College at California State University.

This certificate “offers practical tools and techniques of assistive technology accommodations and applications in meeting the needs of individuals with various disabilities in many settings,” says the CSUN website. It addresses the tools and techniques behind the use of AT and enhances the effectiveness of applying AT solutions for people with learning, physical, cognitive and/or sensory disabilities.

In addition meeting the 100-hour requirement for a certificate in assistive technology applications, the program provides the skills to:

  • apply a wide range of assistive technology in different environments, including augmentative and alternative communication, environmental controls, mobility, computer access technology and more
  • address individual needs through a collaborative team approach and national assessment framework
  • support assistive technology devices and services.

Completing this program is one of the many hurdles to becoming a certified AT Professional through the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America.

Congratulations, Jeff, from everyone at IATP and the CDHD! Idaho can add you to our list of Gems.
