A new semester has begun, which means that artAbility workshops are just around the corner! As usual, we’re kicking things off with a free Disability Etiquette Training session.

Join us on September 12 from 5:30-6:30 pm in the Whitewater Room at the ISUB.

This hour-long training is open to everyone in the local community. Training is provided by a self-advocate, who will discuss important topics such as disability etiquette, People First Language and how to naturally support individuals with disabilities. It’s a prerequisite for University of Idaho students who are interested in acting as natural supports in our artAbility workshops throughout this year.

This training is free and everyone is welcome to join! Come to learn something new and meet friends in an inclusive and accessible environment.

It also officially marks the beginning of a new semester of our artAbility workshops, which provide the opportunity for adults with disabilities to express themselves through art.

Workshops are held in the Moscow/Palouse area and focus on a different artistic medium each time. Past topics have included clay, wood sculpture, photography, printing and more! CDHD student trainees and University of Idaho students participate as well, acting as supports.
