April 14, 2022 By Sophie Spanbauer, CDHD Interdisciplinary Trainee FREE event: Courageous Kids Climbing on April 30 Courageous Kids Climbing is returning to Moscow! Climb the rock wall at the University of Idaho Recreation Center for free on April 30, 2022 from 10-11 am PT, or 11 am-12 pm PT. Registration is required. Contact Sophie Spanbauer at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (208) 885-6000 to save your child’s spot today. This inclusive indoor rock-climbing event for children with disabilities is by the wonderful staff at the University of Idaho’s climbing wall and the Idaho Center on Disabilities and Human Development. Courageous Kids Climbing has been providing children of all abilities with a meaningful climbing experience since 2014 and has been a great supporter to the Moscow community for the past five years. What to expect when you attend If you’ve never been to a Courageous Kids Climbing event before, don’t worry! It’s super fun and easy to participate. When you arrive at the Recreation Center climbing wall, you will need to check in at the sign-in table (located next to the climbing wall). We will provide you with a name tag and have you meet with your instructor. All the instructors and climbing wall staff are experienced rock climbers and are fully prepared to help you climb for the following hour. With the help of staff, you’ll be fitted for climbing equipment such as a harness and any assistive technology you may need. Once you’re fitted and properly trained, the climbing wall is all yours! Participants will be able to climb freely for the full hour, with staff on hand to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees. Join us at the University of Idaho Recreation Center on April 30, 2022, from 10-11 am PT for the first session, or 11 am-12 pm PT for the second session. If you have any questions, or you’d like to reserve a spot email Sophie Spanbauer at email@example.com, call (208) 885-6000, or check out the Courageous Kids Climbing Facebook page.
